Who we are
This website is run by Bridges cross-cultural education services limited, trading as Bridges Education. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 10641897, and our registered office is at The Laurels, Chapel Lane, Northmoor, Witney OX29 5SZ. We decide how the personal information described here is used, so we are its controller under UK data protection law.
If you have a question about your personal information, email us at contact@bridgeseducation.co.uk.
What we collect through the enquiry form
When you send an enquiry, we receive what you type into the form:
- whether you are enquiring for a group or an individual student
- your name, email address and country, and your organisation or school if you give it
- a phone number, WhatsApp number or WeChat ID, if you give one
- the programme you are interested in, the approximate group size, the students' ages and your preferred dates
- your message
We also receive the page you sent the form from and the time it was sent. Please only tell us what we need to plan a programme. You do not need to give us students' names or other details about them at this stage.
How we use it, and why
We use your enquiry to reply to you, to design a programme or proposal you have asked for, and to keep a record of our conversation. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and on the steps needed before we agree a programme with you. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.
If you go on to book a programme, we will ask for the further details needed to run it, such as travel details and dietary or medical requirements, and tell you at the time how they are used.
Where it is kept
The form sends your enquiry to our mailbox, contact@bridgeseducation.co.uk, as an email. It is not stored on the website.
To stop spam, the form keeps a one-way code made from your internet (IP) address, with the times of recent messages. The code cannot be turned back into your address. It is used only to limit how many messages can be sent from one connection, and it is cleared out once it is more than a day old. Like most websites, our host also keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for a limited time to keep the site secure.
Who we share it with
We share your details only when we need to, to plan or run the programme you have asked about: for example with a partner school, a university venue, or accommodation and transport providers. We may also share them with our professional advisers or insurers, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry that does not lead to a programme for no longer than three years, then delete it. If you book a programme with us, we keep the records we need for as long as the law and our insurers require.
Cookies
This website uses Google Analytics cookies, but only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies and explains how to change your choice.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it, or to delete it
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask for a copy in a form you can pass to someone else
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it
To use any of these rights, email contact@bridgeseducation.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
